Fairstone Group, incorporating one of the largest Chartered Financial Planning firms in the UK, has signed Sale-based Avidus Scott Lang under its unique Downstream Buy-Out (DBO) Model in the latest of a string of deals for the firm.
Avidus Scott Lang specialises in pension planning, financial planning, asset management and estate planning, as well as having a long-established expertise in bespoke services to high net worth individuals and corporate clients across the UK.
The deal, which will allow the firm to fully integrate with Fairstone’s systems over a period of time, will help to ensure a seamless transition for clients and staff, and brings an additional £350m of assets under management (AUM) and £2m in revenues to Fairstone Group, as well as a further 7 IFAs and 9 support staff.
Approximately 4,000 clients will also benefit from the move, which will see Avidus Scott Lang work with Fairstone, with the option to make use of its Marketstar portfolios, where appropriate.
Ian Thomasson, Independent Financial Adviser at Avidus Scott Lang, said:
“By integrating with Fairstone we are able to deliver increased quality of service to our clients. Fairstone already has an enviable record of reactivating clients and in new client acquisition, which is vital to us as we look to grow the business. We will also seek to selectively grow the business through acquisition and Fairstone’s backing will allow us to do this more efficiently.
“We are committed to providing the highest levels of advice possible, and feel that our new relationship with Fairstone will allow us to reduce time spent on back office tasks and focus on delivering the service our clients deserve.”
Becoming part of Fairstone gives advisers access to its core technology platform and added value services, including client reactivation services and para-planning and customer acquisition services which help to create efficiencies in the back office, and increase the time that advisers can spend with their clients.
Importantly, the deal also allows firms joining Fairstone to benefit from its newly launched Academy programme which helps advisers to achieve Chartered Status – something which is culturally very important to the company, as one of the largest Chartered firms in the UK.
Commenting, Lee Hartley, CEO of Fairstone, said:
“Avidus Scott Lang is a great cultural fit for Fairstone. We are always looking for partners who will benefit from our structure and, by removing some of the pressure from back office tasks, we can help them grow their business and service their clients. For an ambitious company like Avidus Scott Lang, the financial support that we are also able to offer is invaluable to assist with future growth, and we look forward to working with the team over coming years.”
