Furnley House makes acquisition with backing from Shawbrook

Furnley House, the Leicester-based advice firm, has acquired CDG Financial Services in a £3.9m deal.

The deal has been backed by Shawbrook Bank as part of a long-term investment in, and relationship with, the Superbia Group-parented adviser.

The first round of funding from Shawbrook will refinance the the group’s debt as well as fund its purchase of East-Midlands CDG. Another round of funding is expected in Q1 of 2023 for the purchase of a further adviser acquisition.

Steve Armstrong, Shawbrook’s director of corporate lending, commented: “With a strong presence in their market already and strong ambitions for the future, we’re looking forward to seeing and supporting their journey.”

Stefan Fura,Furnley House managing director, called the relationship with Shawbrook “vital to support Superbia Group as it enters a new era of expansion”.

“Shawbrook’s ability to quickly onboard us and provide a line of credit made them an obvious choice when assessing possible lenders,” he added.
