Sutherland Independent Ltd forms IWP’s East of Scotland Regional hub, continuing expansion in the area.
Independent Wealth Planners UK (IWP UK) today announces the acquisition of Edinburgh based Wealth management Firm, Sutherland Independent Ltd, brokered by Gunner & Co.
Sutherland Independent Ltd was established in 1994 and acquired by co-owners Jason and Ruth Betteridge in 2007 who, with their highly experienced team of Chartered Financial Planners and planning support staff, have grown the business to its current position of £270 million AUA. Jason Betteridge will remain as Director of the firm and comments;
“Our business is characterised by an ethos of Client First with our number one priority being to understand our clients and their needs and help them make informed choices to achieve their future lifestyle dreams. As a vital, forward thinking Firm, we have chosen, in a challenging and contracting market, to partner with IWP, not only to provide longevity for the Firm and continuity of client service for the long term, but to evolve our client offering so that it continues to be the best that it can possibly be. Combined with the central support that comes from being part of IWP, I am excited to see continued growth and development for all at Sutherland Independent as we move forward into this new chapter”
IWP was created to grow, support and promote the UK’s brilliant local independent financial advisory (IFA) firms and build the UK’s best financial advice service. IWP provides market-leading operational and support services, including compliance, IT, investment research, marketing, recruitment and training, allowing IFAs to spend more time with their clients. IWP acquires local firms but leaves the day to day management in the hands of local teams, who may also retain a participation in the ownership of the business
David Inglesfield, CEO of IWP, says “Jason has created an exemplary business in Sutherland Independent and I am thrilled to welcome him and the team to IWP. We look forward to supporting this business to grow and build on the excellent client service they already provide. We hope to continue our rapid growth in the area, building our position and presence in Scotland.”
