Corbel Partners, the UK-wide IFA network, has secured over £10m in acquisition funding from Beechbrook Capital. The funding will support the company’s expansion strategy. Headquartered in Warrington, the £24m turnover business employs more than 50 people and operates a network of over 180 independent financial advisers managing £2.4bn in client assets.

Strategic Expansion and Network Growth

Shaw & Co’s Manchester office advised on the funding. Corbel will use the investment to acquire both existing and external network firms over five years. The company plans to expand its adviser network to nearly 450, double its employees, and increase turnover to over £60m. This growth highlights consolidation opportunities in the UK IFA sector, especially for businesses with recurring revenue and scalable platforms.

Corbel’s Proposition and Market Position

Founded in 2004 by Paul Heath and David O’Hara, Corbel provides network members with the FinPath platform. The company also supports advisers in compliance, regulatory matters, training, paraplanning, and administration. Advisers offer independent financial advice across savings, investments, retirement planning, protection, and mortgage services. The Mandarin Wealth brand enables Corbel to provide its own IFA proposition to a wider client base.

Sector Context and Outlook

The UK IFA sector remains highly fragmented. It includes over 5,000 firms, more than 27,000 advisers, and manages £1.39tn–£1.65tn of client assets. Well-capitalised networks like Corbel can consolidate effectively. They also give advisers access to technology, compliance support, and business growth opportunities.
