Saltus-backed wealth management and financial planning firm Advies Private Clients (Advies) has acquired specialist financial planner Nicholas Trayford, adding £100mn in client assets and 100 clients to Advies.
Advises was founded in 2006 by Conor MacSweeney and James Wills. In October 2023, Advies joined the Saltus Partnership Programme, which aims to support independent planning firms looking to scale. The deal was also supported by financing from the Saltus Partnership Programme.
James Wills, partner at Advies Private Clients, said: “Advies is built on a strong advice-led culture, robust financials and a clear commitment to delivering lasting value to our clients. Nick’s business is a natural fit, sharing our values and client-first approach.”
Nicholas Trayford worked for more than 20 years at a number of Financial Planning firms. He was at the Millfield Partnership from 2001 to 2004, then at Quilter Financial Planning from 2004 until 2014, before moving to True Potential from 2014 to 2024. He is a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
He added: “Advies offered a truly unique proposition in the market—something I couldn’t find anywhere else.
“Their flexible approach is thoughtfully tailored to meet all my professional and client needs, making them the ideal partner for the next stage of my business journey. Partnering with Advies will allow me to elevate the service I offer to clients, with greater resources and more time dedicated to what matters most – supporting clients in achieving their financial goals.”
