At a roundtable in London, hosted by consultancy Gunner & Co and chaired by FT Adviser, consolidators, national buyers, private equity companies and trade acquirers explained how their appetite for buying advice firms simply to achieve scale has disappeared.

But despite any regulatory change, the roundtable still believed consolidation was still going to continue, and that private equity buyers would still be “very interested” in the advice sector.
