Wren Sterling has strengthened its position in the UK financial planning market through the acquisition of two firms, adding close to £500m in assets under management and approximately 1,400 clients.
The business has acquired Keyte Ltd and Mackenzie Taylor Asset Management for undisclosed sums, continuing its strategy of targeted regional expansion.
Keyte acquisition adds scale in the South West
The purchase of Keyte Ltd contributes around £400m in assets and approximately 1,100 clients. Based in Taunton, the firm has been built over more than 25 years by Robin and Siobhan Keyte.
Six financial planners and five support staff will join Wren Sterling, with the Taunton office retained as a regional hub. This approach reflects a continued focus on preserving local relationships while enhancing centralised capabilities.
Keyte clients will gain access to a broader investment offering, including discretionary investment management services delivered through Wren Sterling’s governed framework. This includes ethical model portfolio options aligned with client preferences.
Glasgow deal strengthens regional presence
The acquisition of Mackenzie Taylor Asset Management adds approximately £86m in assets and 300 clients. The business has been led by David Canning for more than 15 years and has established a loyal client base in the Glasgow region.
Clients of Mackenzie Taylor will benefit from enhanced financial planning services, alongside access to professionally managed discretionary investment solutions.
Supporting a long-term growth strategy
These transactions follow Wren Sterling’s recent acquisition of Brunsdon Financial and form part of its ongoing deal pipeline for 2026.
Chief Executive James Twining highlighted the strategic importance of the deals, noting that they strengthen the firm’s presence in key regions while aligning with its long-term vision.
Both acquisitions reflect a consistent approach to growth, focused on partnering with established advisory businesses and enhancing client outcomes through broader planning capabilities and investment solutions.
