Stephen Spires Financial Consultants and Freedom Financial Planning have been purchased by Quilter Private Client Advisers in what is Quilter’s first deal of the year. The deal will contribute £130m in assets under administration to Quilter (previously Old Mutual Wealth).

Gunner & Co. are proud to have represented Stephen Spires Financial Consultants and worked closely with Steve to find the very best fit that suit his future plans and the best interests of his clients.

Managing directors of both Stephen Spires Financial Consultants and Freedom will be retiring, with their clients transferring to Quilter, while the financial planning director of Freedom, Nick Heys, will be joining Quilter.
Andy Nevett of Freedom commented:
“After over 30 years in financial planning it is time for me to enjoy my freedom with the knowledge that my clients will be with a very safe pair of hands given the professional expertise that Quilter Private Clients Advisers offers.”

Quilter’s strategy and acquisitions director, Dominic Rose, also spoke on the transaction:
“Both these firms align well with our client service proposition and we look forward to continuing to deliver the exceptional service to which the clients are accustomed. We will build on the great work Stephen and Andy have done and wish them well in their retirement. Furthermore, we are thrilled to welcome Nick from Freedom Financial Planning to the Quilter PCA team.”
