Tilney Smith & Williamson have acquired FP Solutions, an Essex-based IFA specialising in pension and investment advice, as part of its succession programme.
In October, Tilney S&W launched a succession programme to take over the client books of retiring advisers. FP Solutions principal Steve Jupp will be joining Tilney S&W before he retires to ensure a “gradual handover” of the business.
Richard Dawes, head of strategic partnerships at Tilney Smith & Williamson, said: “I am delighted that Steve Jupp is joining our Chelmsford office as part of our succession programme. Steve has built a great business working with clients from across Essex and this move will ensure they continue to receive a high-quality, personalised service for many years to come.
“The announcement also demonstrates our commitment to continue growing our business in Chelmsford and the wider Essex area.”
Speaking at the time of the launch of the Succession programme, Mr Dawes commented:
“We know financial advisers care about their clients – many of whom they count as friends – and will want them to find a quality home and put in place a succession plan as they themselves look to retire. Financial advisers understandably are already very busy providing financial planning services for their clients and so often don’t have the time to think about the long-term future of their businesses. Our new programme aims to take the stress out of succession planning and provide a great home for advisers and their clients.
Tilney S&W have made a number of small acquisitions in 2021, such as the purchase of HFS Milbourne in March.
